Make Money With DIY Online Teaching
One way to make money online is by teaching. If you can get hired by an online educational institution and be paid a salary, then that’s a good route to go. But, even if you don’t get an official virtual teaching appointment, you can still become a paid online instructor. You can do this via DIY courses.
DIY courses can be carried out either via third party services or through your own website. I’ve done both approaches and I’ll explore the pros and cons of each as follows:
Third Party Services:
Pros:
- Usually, they can tap in to a built-in client base that you can turn in to paying customers.
- They can help out in the promotions and marketing of your online courses.
- No need to set up your own virtual classrooms, which can be tricky if you have limited technical expertise.
- Availability of several features and functions for your virtual classroom.
- If the service has a good name/background, it lends its positive reputation to your class, as well as your status as an online instructor.
Cons:
- Strict guidelines that you must adhere to in terms of formatting, class delivery, etc.
- Lack of control in some areas of your courses (technical matters, customer support, etc.).
- Not full payment of course fees (cut may be anywhere between 10 - 50%).
