in Affiliate Programs and Tips

It’s been a while, so I think it’s time to share another site on affiliate programs. This time, let me talk about ShareASale.com. This network pretty much works in a similar fashion to Commission Junction and LinkShare.

You basically just sign-up, look for affiliate merchants that interest you, apply to their programmes, wait for approval (some give immediate approval), and then when you’re approved, you get links that you start using on your website or weblog. They have several merchants, although they don’t seem to specialise in “big name” affiliates. That’s not a bad thing in my book, as some of my best affiliates are not exactly from popular brands. They do, however, have some interesting affiliate merchants that I wish to work with, that’s why I signed up with them.

I haven’t really used their programme that long yet (less than a month), so I’m not sure how well it works. But, if I can have a wish list about ShareASale, that list would contain two important things:

1) Please improve your affiliate admin interface. It can get very confusing in the beginning.

2) Please don’t initially give approval with merchants, then show “declined” a couple of days later. This happened to me recently and it’s annoying because I already put up links - which I had to take down.

I have a few more that I wish to add. But, it’s probably early days yet. So, I’ll still see how this works out.

If you’re keen to give it a go yourself, you can join shareasale.com now. Let me know how it works out for you!
