Managing Technology asks about podcasting*: Can This New Medium Make Money?
The verdict is still out about the viability of podcasts/podcasting as a way to make money online. But, there are definitely people who are looking in to this. In fact, just a couple of months ago, micropayment service BitPass announced support for charging for premium podcasts.
In any case, there seems to be two main ways to look at the possibility of profiting from podcasting (for the average user):
1) Charging subscriptions for premium podcast content.
2) Running advertisements within podcast shows.
It’s interesting to watch how podcasting develops as a business.
