When I first looked at Chitika’s contextual advertising programme, I wasn’t blown away immediately. Well, I’ve been testing it out due to positive reviews that I’ve been reading (like this). However, so far, I’m still not impressed.
I’ve been running Chitika* Mini Malls ads for the past couple of weeks in various blogs/sites — and I’m underwhelmed. Not only is it difficult to get relevant ads, the impressions vs. clickthroughs are just incredibly low. Maybe I haven’t positioned them well, maybe I’ve got too many other competings ads, maybe they haven’t optimised properly… Well, whatever the reason may be, I’m still holding on to AdSense tightly.
I must be in the minority, as I’ve been seeing them everywhere lately. I’m not sure if I’ll change my views another time.

NOTE: This Chitika write-up needs to be updated.
I wouldn’t get your hopes up on Chitika. It seems that even those people who were making high earnings have had their earnings slashed when results were "audited" by Chitika before payment. Lots of bad press going around now from users who lost 50% to 90% of earnings. That’s a lot of wasted effort and advertising space.
