The $100 Challenge
During our first official poll here, we found out that most readers and visitors of Just Make Money Online don’t make any money from the web at all. And, those who do, only make between US$1 - 100.
With this in mind, I’d like to pose a challenge. Or a project. Just something we can all do for fun (and profit!) to kickstart 2007.
To join this project:
1) Think of any online venture (eBay auction, AdSense, CafePress, etc. - or a combination) that you’d like to use for this project. We will all start with $0 from 1st Jan 2007. Yes, even if you were already earning something from this venture before, we begin with 0. But, to make this more challenging and interesting, it’ll be great if you can choose a project that hasn’t been fully tested yet. So, if you know you’ve been earning regularly from something, then it might be best not to use that venture for this project.
2) Blog about this project (linking back will be great) and mention your intent to earn at least $100 by the end of 2007. Share the link to your blog entry, so I can link back to you and include you as participant in this project.
3) Share some insights and other activities that you do to reach the US$100 target.
4) As soon as you reach the target, tell us all about it so we can share your story.
What do you say?

I have just started this website in the past few months. I have made $35 but I have not advertised it much as of yet. At the very least I can purchase products much cheaper than at retail. I just purchased a new in box with factory warrenty cordless headset for $155.00 less then from a retailer.

I intend to make much more then $100 in 2007 with this site.
The biggest hurdle is advertising. how much do I spend, what will work best? There are alot of so called great ways to advertise out there but which ones really work is the question.

I think this is a good idea. Though I plan to make more than $100 in 2007 if I can jump start one of the slower sections of my blog that will be a good thing.

I think it is a fantastic idea. I’ve just started a blog declaring myself ‘open for business’ and wrote that I will be revealing my earnings, or lack of them, at the end of each month on the blog. The blog has just started and even though I am so technically challenged I have decided to do affiliate marketing (not very unusual an idea I know) but there will be minimal start up costs, so it is a kind of here goes sort of thing. If I think of brilliant new idea I will get it to you. Would love to link up with you even though your blog looks very professional and mine like a complete beginner’s effort. (Which it is). I intend to earn more than $100 by end 2007. I want to leave my 9-5 job. Good luck with project.

I think this is a great idea. I have been online for about 3 years, have a site and a few blogs and have yet to make any money - although to be fair I have spent more time learning than doing. I have consistently added content but dont have a product and not much of a list.
At the beginning of this year, I started my new blog as a step by step account of my starting over from the beginning, so would love to be involved in this challenge and show my husband I am not just wasting my time on the computer.

Steve: Thanks for your comment. Let us know if/when you’re joining the project. Do you have a blog where we can track your progress?
Glen: Let us know if you blogged about this project, so I can link back to you. And, do keep us updated. The idea’s not to limit you to $100 for the whole year. It’s just something to target and celebrate, once the goal is reached.
Izual: Let me know if you’re planning to join the project, so we can track your progress.
Anne: Thanks for your feedback. Would love to link back to you. Did you link the project to your blog and your intent to join this? If yes, please share the link so I can list you as a participant. :)
Miha: There is a reason for the $100 goal. No, I didn’t think it’s too low, as I said, many readers shared that they’ve never earned money online, so it’s better to set a more reasonable goal. Anyway, $100 isn’t the “end goal” — just a point to celebrate.
Carol: Thanks! Let me know if I should link to you as a participant in this project. Will be happy to follow your progress, if you do take part. :)

This is just a quickie. I don’t know if it is the right place to post it, but in my research into online business I came across Rich Schefren who is not only a great businessman but is coach to the top online marketers. I enclose video links for anyone who is a beginner like me or even more experienced. The content is fantastic for those trying to get to the $100 because he talks about the pitfalls we all face. He is of course talking about making millions in the future sometime - but gotta start somewhere and we might as well start with the best advice around in my opinion. Best regards.

I´m joining in a bit late on this one, but since we have until the end of the year, I figure I can do it! My project is BUM Marketing, I just watched the video last night and it makes sense to me, so I think I will give that a try. But if possible, I´m going to include two projects, the other being my PLR article pack site! I´ve sold a couple of packs off it, but I really want to focus on redesigning the site and marketing it.
PS. I´m linking to your post from my blog: http://www.AtHomeMomBlog.com

Hey, I want to join, too! As everybody’s already said, nice challenge! Hehe. My blog isn’t really meant to be a “make money online” blog; it’s mostly about my life, music, movies, and all that jazz. But I wanted to make some moolah, even for a little bit, from it. I hope to pass the $100 mark, though! ^_^

I in Shai! I actually decided earlier today, that I am going to start a part time Virtual Assistant business. I am looking for a way to extract myself completely from corporate america. In order to do that I need to make money - create an income with my online businesses. I will be creating a one page/two page website and start advertising. I will make more than $100. with this venture before the end of 2007. As soon as I get the site up I will blog about it on my site and I’ll be ready for the challenge.
