Chrysalis Creativity: $100 Challenge Case Study
Ever since I wrote about The $100 Challenge, I’ve added four participants to the project. But, I haven’t managed to chime in with any of my own work. But, this doesn’t mean that I haven’t been reviewing my own money-making ventures to see which ones I can use for this project.
In fact, I decided to take on the challenge in one of my blogs, Chrysalis Creativity. This was actually started way back in 2003 as a hobby site. I never really thought about making money off it. I just wanted a place to put stuff that I was interested in when it comes to creative pursuits.
Some time late in 2004/early 2005, I decided to convert it in to a blog. Still, with no view of making money save for a few dollars from Amazon affiliates. And later on, with a bit of money from Google AdSense.
Other money-making tools I used for the site included: Chitika and MyHelpHub.
Within a year, I think I must’ve made about US$20 - 30 in all combined programmes. And, my AdSense earnings between 25 Feb 2006 to 25 February 2007 was US$21.45. So, that’s about US $50 in total. Not bad, as it basically paid for its domain name and web hosting fees, with extra change. Nothing to jump for joy, though.
So, I decided that this year, I’ll try to up the ante by taking on the $100 challenge. I’ll share with you some of the money making approaches I’ll be using in the site in future posts.
