XOOM SERVICES = bullshit, fake, scam
Ranks #1 on Google for the search term “Xoom Money Complaints” and “Xoom Money Scam”

Some Xoom employees tried to manipulate the comments, they are flagged below.

All were from the same IP address and geo locates back to the Xoom Center. ePLDT in Manila confirmed it.

Incurred the lamest DDOS attack I ever seen, 32 Zombies from several different internet cafes. LAME is all I can say, they maxed at 8% server load over 32ms ! Is that lame or what !

I have been contacted by an Attorney interested in a Class Action type lawsuit, anyone interested can email me. The time is rapidly approaching where Xoom won’t be able to stop this, all I wanted was for someone at Xoom to address the problems instead of shunt the problem and ignore me.

For those who want to use XOOM: Their Money Transfer Fees chart (https://www.xoom.com/sendmoneynow/money-transfer-fees) is deceiving, as xoom shows the chart's blue bar steady for 4.99 value service which could take a few DAYS to process, and the yellow bars for Western Union show a progresively higher fee, but xoom fails to mention that for such fee (WesternUnion's) the service is rendered in a few minutes AND that the comparable service of xoom (xoom standard service, which pays out in minutes) is actually higher.
Then Xoom does not state the exchange rate at which your money will be paid, at least not if you're shopping and want to copmare to other services BEFRE you go thru the transaction.
Conlcusion: Xoom is not cheaper than competitors for comparable services.

Rob...not sure if you know this but many, many online scams emanate from Nigeria. This sounds like another one. It has all the red flags and flashing lights. Hang onto your tools till you can find a local buyer.

I am tring to sell some tools on craigslist. The buyer told me I had to set up a gmail account to get the conformation that the money was sent. Then I got the conformation under my new gmail email account. Why can't I use my yahoo account to get a conformation? I am confused a little. I posted the tools with a pic and they were priced fairly resonable. They are unused opened presents that were tools I decided not to keep for work because I am hurting for money.
The guy told me just do what he said and send the tools using DHL. So I am supposed to pay for the shipping and once I ship the stuff I get some kind of option to get paid by xoom. I don't know if that is what you do. What if i send my tools that I want $400 for and they are going to cost $150 to $250 to send and I never get paid. I have a xoom account but no bank account or paypal account. How do I make sue this is legitimate and not a scam.($650 was confirmed by xoom through my gmail account but it was marked as spam and I got the conformation twice) The address is to Nigeria. The last email i received he told me to just borrow the shipping cost, like I have no access to that much money, that is why I am trying to sell my nice expensive tools. Plus, what if he doesn't like them or they are not what he thought they were. He never called me or asked questions about them. What if I happened to be a dishonest person figuritivly speaking and only send some tools, meaning more than one tool, all the xoom email says is it is for tools you posted on craiglist.

HELP PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!

~Rob

Trying to be open minded about this, I usually only sell things locally to people who can look at what I have and say cool!!! I take them....here is the cash......call me old fashioned....

I have used Xoom at least 12 times to transfer money (various amounts from $25- $3000) from my US account to an account I have in the UK for child support payments. I have never had a problem, the money has taken at best a couple of hours, at worst 4 business days to get there, in one instance the money appeared in my UK account before it had 'left' my US account.

Second Post follow up to one above. Like dummy I tried to use XOOM again. Their value service states "May take up to 4 days" it should state "WILL take 4 business days at Least". I canceled two transactions for a few thousand dollars. Now they say it will take 10 days to get the money back into my account. Im going to Western Union in a few mins. and send the money that way. At least I know it will get there and be available for pick up in a couple hours time or even mins.

Do not use XOOM. They are extremely unreliable and make false statements. The 1st time I used them they sent in an account # that had a duplicate digit in it. After waiting for DAYS and DAYS for the money to get to the Philippines for my wifes business they finally said the bank was the problem. I contacted my local small bank and they looked at the transaction and said the account # had one extra digit. I sent the money that day via Western Union. Cash, and it was avaiable for pickup in USD within mins.

I signed up for Xoom last week and tried it twice. The first time the payment worked and the second time it was cancelled for violating the TOS. No reason. They funny thing is that I sent money to the same person both times.

I have to wait till Monday to call the "Verification" team to see if they will tell me the problem.

Not imprssed by the service and it unlikely I will use them again.

On and as a side note, Xoom is unable to send emails to Road Runner email accounts or att. Hotmail worked.

Stay away from them.

They took days and didn't even start the transaction. I then canceled the transaction, and two days later they took the money out of my account. And the told me they were not able to stop the transaction and had to let it finish before they could refund my money, which would take 5 to 10 business days. Once canceled what did they then go ahead and take money out of my account? It sounds like a lot of crooked dealings going on. You do that with enough money through out the nation and keep money for 10 days, intrest free. Hum i wonder what they are really doing. Maybe getting intrest from an account with other peoples money?
