Since we’re holding a poll on Google AdSense right now, and I just read Darren’s post on The Story of the Day Google AdSense Wrote a Bad Check about a person who received plenty of grief regarding a bad Google Adsense cheque, I thought we’ll keep this as our Open Mic Topic for the week.

My own short Google AdSense story goes something like this…
After about a year since posting my first Google codes in a couple of my websites/weblogs, I received my first Google AdSense cheque early in 2005. Just over a $100. I was amazed and thrilled.
It definitely inspired me to do more when it came to monetising my sites. Up until then, I didn’t think I could ‘take matters in to my own hands’. From then on, I learned how to optimise my sites/blogs for Google Adsense and such.
My next cheque came about 3 months or so later. And, slowly, I started receiving monthly cheques. It was exciting.
It never became my main source of income but my Google Adsense cheques were certainly welcome additions to the family income.
So now, tell me about your Google AdSense story.

I started this year with blogging for real and also put some adsense code on my blogs. I was really happy with the first click. And those clicks became more and know a have a few clicks every day. But it’s just a few dollar cents I get. But at least every day.
I also look every day to see if I did get anything. I try not to watch but there is something in me that pushes me to the computer and let me watch my earnings. Every time a have something I’m happy.
I’m also very eager on getting money because I hope to earn some more money with blogging because I love it and if I earn more money I can do it more.
That’s my story.
I think the page is great. When I search for asense blos it always nice to hear what other fellow bloggers have to say. My favorate thing to find is little tid bits of advice and adsense tricks to get me one steo ahead. Here’s a little trick I found.
I added this little tidbit of code to get the adsense block to float inline properly.

Well my story is about my first adsense check. I started around the middle of October of last year and of course I expected to make at least $100! – LOL! I made around $22 dollars that first month so I was bummed that I didn’t get a check! The next month I made $99 dollars so I got both amounts – yay! This was intoxicating! After hearing all those “make money online” schemes here was a legitmate way to make money online! (I actually read one guy say that his monthly adsense payments are enough to pay his monthly mortgage!)
Well after that 2nd month I have managed to get a monthly payment every month so far (and again this month I’m actually awaiting my payment).
I think its addicting! So many people have made enough from adsense to quit their jobs and I think that is what we all want to achieve.
Although I already work from home the added income from Adsense just makes me want more – while still trying to stay true to my blog!

My adsense story just happened yesterday and involves several items:
1. This makes the first time I have gone over $200 for a single month.
2. The first time I made $20 for a single day.
3. I got 168 clicks in one day also a first.
4. It took 15 days to reach $100 and 8 days to go over $200
5. If current projections hold up I will have my first month of over 2,000 clicks as well.
Combined with the other things I use to monetize my blog Adsense is becoming my all time favorite.
I made $755 from Adsense in July 2007.
This is from my own photo / wallpaper / Myspace web sites.
I have not spend anything on marketing, and only worked on it in my spare time (though this adds up to a LOT of work over the last few years)..
