Clickbank: Make Money Online with Info Products
Clickbank* is an online marketplace for digital products. Particularly, informational products (ebooks). There are 3 ways you can make money online with Clickbank:
1) Publisher sales. If you have a product to sell, you can sign up for an account and allow your product to be sold by thousands of affiliates. You can offer % of the sale of your products to affiliates. It may seem a bit tough parting with some of those $s, but the good thing is that you can get a number of people to re-sell your product. You get a wider reach. And hopefully, more sales.
2) Affiliate commissions. If you don’t have a product to sell, you can still make money by selling other people’s products. You will then get a % of the product sale. There’s a huge range in the commissions (some offer 1%, some 75%). Read the Affiliate FAQ for more information.
3) Through Referral Fees. If you wish to promote Clickbank, you can get paid for it. Read the Referral Programme FAQ for details.
I’ve been signed up with Clickbank since 2005. Based on my account, I earned over $60 at one time or the other. However, since I’m non-US based, I opted to receive cheques only if it reaches a high level (at the moment $250).
And, since I do not really promote Clickbank links, my account became stagnant. One down side of Clickbank is that if your account becomes stagnant, they start taking your money ($1 per pay period, after 90 days of being stagnant; then $5 per pay period after 180 days; then $15). So, in my case, from $60, I now have less than $20 from all the deductions. A real downer. It can be really discouraging.
However, if you can receive $10 cheques (minimum), then this shouldn’t be a problem. And, if you actively use Clickbank, then you probably won’t encounter the same issue.
In any case, I know it’s a very popular service. And, they do have a few good products for re-sale. So, it’s definitely worth checking out.
