Of course my goal is to be able to make a living from my adsense earnings but I also don’t want to rely on just one income source. I have my Adsense and Blog Consulting business as well.

So far this year I have managed to make at least the $100 minimum amount needed to get an adsense payment. July of this year was my best month yet. It wasn’t enough to pay my mortgage but it was enough to pay some of my bills and of course I did my monthly adsense congratulation celebration by ordering pizza - so I did manage to earn a good amount!

I think people get too touchy when it comes to ads on blogs. Personally, unless ads actually get in the way, and PREVENT me from reading the content, I don’t mind them because I understand people have to fund their blogs in some way. If a blog was built solely to make money off of, and the blogger doesn’t have any interest in the actual topic, then chances are the content is going to be sub-par and not get much traffic/not be in existence for much longer anyway.

When you pick up a magazine, do you expect there not to be a significant amount of pages of advertising? Of course not, because we all know they have to get paid somehow… It’s the same with blogging. I think the person who cares most about how the blog looks with ads on it, is the owner of the blog himself… everyone else wants good CONTENT.

My two cents: Use as many ads as you want…. just don’t let the ads make it difficult for readers to actually read the content.

I found placing adsense on my ecommerce site to be useful. For obvious reasons, the ads are not placed on my homepage or higher converting pages. Rather they are strategically placed on lower stock pages, out of stock pages, and lower converting pages.

By the way, I am making good money online.

I’ll be getting my second check from Google adsense in October. This is almost a year after the last one. That’s pretty sad.
