A Guide on How to Make Money with Squidoo
There are 5 ways to make money online through Squidoo. Probably 6, if I count “create spin-off products on Squidoo.”
This guide focuses on the most basic way to see your first dollar from your efforts: Creating and promoting lenses (and lensmaking).
Time Required: Varies
Level: Easy
$ Potential: $1 - to a few hundred a month, depending on the time and effort you can put in to creating and promoting ‘lenses’
Pays via: Paypal (or Charity donations, your choice)
Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to make money online with Squidoo:
Step 1: List down 5 Things that you’re really, really interested in. The more specific, the better. Don’t think too hard. Just list down things that first come to mind. Although you can come up with all sorts of topics here, probably one of your best bets is to concentrate on product-related lenses.
Step 2: Do a quick search on Squidoo to see if your favourite topics are already being covered. If they’re already being covered widely, consider a few other topics. If you’re not too concerned about competition, then feel free to skip this step.
Step 3: Concentrate on one topic and start creating your lens. Think of what type of lens you wish to create and follow the prompts. You’ll be guided along the way!
Step 4: Add content! Here’s where you can start adding affiliate links, products from partner vendors, etc. If you can cover the basic who, what, why, how, etc, that’ll be great.
Step 5: Preview your lens. If you’re happy with it, go right ahead and go to the next step. If not, edit and review until you’re satisfied.
Step 6: Publish your lens!
Step 7: Visit the page you just created. Start promoting your lens by submitting your page to different social websites. Squidoo has some built-in features, like submitting to StumbleUpon. But you’ll need to do some more work t attract more visitors to your lens.
Step 8: Promote to your heart’s content. Blog about it. Send the link to your friends and family. Share it on Facebook MySpace, etc.
Step 9: Wait for your Squidcash!
Rinse, then repeat. ;-)
Some useful tips:
1) Include images, wherever possible in your lens.
2) Don’t forget to set up your payee information (Paypal addy, cash payout threshold, etc)
3) Other than social networking sites, you will also benefit from joining lensmaster groups on Squidoo and promoting your lenses there.
4) Don’t get too obsessed about your traffic and rank! ;-)
What You’ll Need:
1) A valid email account
2) A Squidoo account (you’ll be signed in to one, once you start making lenses)
3) A Paypal account

Nice job on the cash. I just started trying to make money online as well. I think the Squidoo idea sounds good, and i’ll give it a try as well. For my start I used a program that gave me a site to promote the best money making programs. http://free-websites-package.com/ is the site if you want to check it out. I made about $20 in the first few days, but i plan to make that grow.

Great introduction to Squidoo! I started two months ago and have made just over $10 from affilate sales and adsense payouts. That was on 10 lenses. I now have 26 so I’m looking forward to see what next month brings. I am openly sharing my tips on http://the-big-squidoo.blogspot.com/ and would welcome any comments.

Nice article. I have two lenses - more for fun than for anything else - and haven’t made a penny. I do love the option to donate funds to charity, though. That’s my intention (if I ever make anything on it).

I think the charity option is great too. $3.26 of my $10 went to charity. I vary my contributions from lens to lens. Some have a split, some are 100% cash and some 100% donation - depending on the subject.
I know some lensmasters take 100% cash and I don’t think that there is anything wrong with this. After all, Squidoo HQ only gives 5% of their post-expense revenue to charity!

I made a couple of lenses back in July mainly to create links to one of my websites. When I went back later to look, they’d made about $3. During September and October I made a bunch more (now 12 lenses), so looking forward to seeing how they perform.

I saw this in your wrap up posts, I’m a huge Squidoo fan! I have several lenses. I think people shouldn’t be afraid of the competition, just put your own original spin on things. You can definitely make money there.

Squidoo is great. I’ve had a bit of success with it.
Best thing I like about Squidoo is the stats really especially if you rank high and get a lot of traffic then you get to see a lot of keywords that people are using to find your lens. Good for adwords campaigns.

Yeah. Squidoo is great for giving short reviews of products and special bonuses. Besides google loves squidoo, so a high ranking is certain to come as well if you know SEO. Here’s some examples of the work that I do…

http://www.squidoo.com/affiliatepayloadd…
http://www.squidoo.com/internetmarketing…
Notice how I keeps all them constant for all the different products I promotes. Also the main plus to using squidoo as an affiliate website is that it’s free. No need for a domain or hosting, just create and publish.
Just my 2¢
