Sedo vs GoDaddy Domain Cash Parking

When I first wrote about Domain Cash Parking about a couple of months ago, I mentioned that I’ve never tried that form of making money online before. A few days ago, I realised that I own a couple of domain names that are not being used.

So, I decided that I’d give domain cash parking a go. After all, having a domain name that’s not being used is like having extra cash that’s just lying around.  That’s why I decided I’ll try to see if I can make  money from these domain names instead. But, instead of just using one service, I decided to try two services: Sedo and GoDaddy. Sedo is free and GoDaddy requires payment. I opted for the basic one on GoDaddy, to try it for a month.

I’ll let you know the results at the end of my one month trial.

If you still have an extra domain lying around try out Whypark too. If you’re interested I’ll e-mail you the info for a free 1 account Whypark account. (the free account doesn’t get me commission if you sign up with it later)

Hmmm… I might just be able to. Let me know how it goes. Have you been using Whypark for a while now? How do you like it? Thanks for sharing this info.

I’m using it for one site to try it out. I posted previously in the domain cash parking thread too. Its not a niche site so I’m not getting very many hits yet. However its indexed in google now, but the site has been deindexed in yahoo. (I’m still checking why, but I think its because it was cached with the old go daddy cash parking website).

Atleast for whypark you can drive traffic there via link building unlike the other domain park sites. I think I’ve made about $1 from adsense so far. I’ll email you the info for the free 1 domain whypark account shortly.

I have tried the godaddy cash parking for a few months now and my total sales have reached $.22. I am not sure if the domains I choose to run on the parking are just not good keytraffic domains or what, but results have been less than what I hoped for?

I think I have about 25 domains parked there right now, some are pretty good 5 and 6 letter domains. I would like to hear how it worked for others as well. Good luck, Scott

I woud love to hear and update on how everyone is doing. I have three spare domain names just sitting around that I’m paying on. Everything I have found wants a regular email nothing for yahoo or gmail mail. :(

    @Homemom

I’ve just signed up on SEDO with a free mailing account, you have only to use one that is not one of the known big ones (like G and Y).

If you are out of ideas, try this italian one (http://registrazione.libero.it/), on the field “Provincia” (it means State) insert the vaklue “EE” (it means foreign country).

On secondpage check “sì” (=yes), the rest should be self explaining.

I would try godaddy first homemom3. You have to pay but I “Think” (not for sure) that godaddy does some SEO on the parked domains. Thats just a hunch.

I have about 150 domains listed on godaddy I just got my first check for 55 bucks. Of all the names I have on there seems just the same few get any views/clicks I have submitted all the names to the search engines and have done a lot of work on keywords. I’m interested to know if anyone has had the same luck?

I have 30 domains over at Sedo and I make about $50/month

Are they domains you registered as new ones or are they domains which you bought as already indexed ?

    Giving they’re new, thats approx 150 x $10 =$1500

Earning $55/month it will take you about 27 months to break even.

    Thanks for sharing your experience.

domainspa is free 2 use, I do know for a fact that they r lifting u up, and they charge only 25%, while godaddy takes 30-40%. anyhow, even if u r stayin there 4 a month, your domains will receive more traffic. i got there when they were new so i even get more :-)

For those of you using Godaddy Cashparking and making money from it. That’s pretty amazing. But it’s kind of expensive at $4/month and you get 60% of revenue only.

At least check out Google Adsense for domains that’s FREE! I have a site on it and it earns me zilch.

Or else try http://www.instantadsensemachine.com and you get fresh content that’s targeted, you control the content (and thus the adsense banners), takes less than 5 minutes to install and you can leave it alone forever, and you can market things like affiliate links, etc.

Anyways, check out the free demos or download the free trial.

I parked my domain at sedo for a few days and made 22cents but I felt it was a waste just leaving it sit there making pennys per day, so I went to whypark and was at least able to have a bit fun and make a free website and add my own content. I’m not saying you can make more money from it but at least a website with content is alot more attractive that a site full of ads. Plus I got 21 cents for 1 click. Click my name to see my website and there is also a whppark link there if you want to read more or give it a try.

go daddy costs money. paying to park and STILL splitting the cut as any other….may as well pay hosting and make a mini content site.

I bought domains from them. Good price. I say Sedo as it is free parking.

Anyone else having trouble loading sedo park sites on firefox browser? God I hope its just mine

Go with google if you got the guns.

Sedo was completely useless for me. I had my domains listed with them and parked with them for about 3 years. Not one lead and during the same time I sold 3 or 4 domains all well above $5000 by buyers simply contacting me directly using the email address for the domain owner. I was averaging about $3 a month in parking. I got fed up with them for their stupid limit rule for listing domains over $10,000. I took all the domains away and took parking to my godaddy reseller account. Last month they made $63 in PPC. That is about 20 times more than Sedo. I am upset that I lost on the extra money for 3 years but happy that I realized and stopped getting screwed by sticking with sedo. I am so mad at Sedo that I am spreading the word about my experience with their lackluster parking revenue.

I think sedo is good for parking if you have a name with good keywords you will make money and also try to get an expired domain with backlinks it will help you make more faster. see this domain http://weddingpalacely.info its one of my domains listed there

I think you have to look at the TRAFFIC factor. When listing with Sedo or Godaddy consider this big factor: How much traffic can the service you list with generate for you? Granted you will have to do your own SEO work but there is also the TRAFFIC factor to consider.
    Live well and prosper, Jack
