ShoppingAds
It looks like the AuctionAds folks have come up with a new programme called ShoppingAds. And, unlike AuctionAds, which is a CPA (Cost Per Action) programme, ShoppingAds is CPC (Cost Per Click).
Some basic background: ShoppingAds isn’t contextual, so you can run it with other contextual ads like Google AdSense. You can also run as many ShoppingAds on your blog or website as you wish (but please don’t overdo it!). There’s a payment threshold of US $50 and payments are only done via Paypal.
My initial reaction: I’ve only started running the ShoppingAds ad yesterday. So, I’m not sure yet how it will work out. At the moment, I’m not really expecting much. One issue I’ve encountered so far is that even though I put in my own keywords, the ads aren’t serving relevant products yet. So, we’ll see.
At the moment, ShoppingAds is by invitation only. I’m not sure when they’ll release the public version. I’ll let you know how it goes after I’ve tried it out for a while.

Michael: Yeah… will be interesting to see how it works. And - I’m trying not to say anything about maintaining my PR5… since I’m not quite sure if the rollout’s finished yet or not. But, it looks like JMMO is safe.
Marcelo: Not sure if I’m allowed to give out invitation codes. Will let you know if I ever find out if it’s OK.

If you’re already a ShoppingAds user, or considering becoming one, you should check out http://www.emptyspaceads.com (a product I left my full-time job at Microsoft to build), which allows you to put ShoppingAds units in your website’s empty space. After all, when was the last time you made any money from your site’s empty space? Better yet, you don’t have to give up any existing ad units to run emptyspaceads. Keep what works!
We hope to add more ad networks soon! You can also create your own TextAds, ImageAds, and even HTMLAds. I invite you to try it out and send your honestly brutal feedback. Thanks!
