Make Money with JMMO: A Project and a Contest!
Yes - this make money online blog doesn’t just want to help you make money on the web. It now wants to start giving away money too!
I’ve been meaning to do giveaways on this blog for a while now, but have been stuck in the ‘conceptualising’ process. I wanted to come up with a giveaway that will not just give stuff to one or two people. I wanted something that will benefit a lot of people - even if they don’t ‘win’ a tangible prize. Well, I decided to unblock myself and just keep things simple. And, seeing as the holidays are coming up, I thought that this is a good time as any to start giving away some cash.
OK - before you get too excited, I just want to say that this is nothing massive. Just a simple cash giveaway matched with a Group Writing Project. Just to see what the response will be like.
Remember my $25 poll? Yes? Good. You’ll probably know where I’m headed. If not, well, last month, I basically asked folks what they’d do if someone were to give them $25 to make money online, what would they do?
So, now, the contest. Well, it’s a simple Group Writing contest.
And, here’s what you need to do:
1) Write about what you would do if you had $25. You can relate it to making money online - but you don’t have to. If your blog is about parenting, you can relate it to your blog’s topic. If you have an interest in fishing, why not experiment with that topic? Be as creative as you want to be. You can make it long. Or short. Or somewhere in-between. You can respond either on your blog (if you have one), or via comments here.
2) If you wish to respond on your blog, please make sure that you either send a trackback to this post - or leave a comment here with a link to your blog. Of course, you’ve got two advantages if you start a post on your blog: a) You’ll get a linkback from this blog (I’ll consolidate all entries in another post); b) You might attract new readers if you come up with a great post.
But, if you’d rather not go there (or if you don’t have a blog), then you’re welcome to simply leave a comment with your answer right here.
Also, while you’re encouraged to link back to JMMO for this contest, it’s NOT necessary. Just blog about the topic and let me know where it is. No strings attached. ;-)
3) Check back to see all entries. Links to blog entries will be given, and full text entries will be shared if you participate via comments only.
4) Visit each other’s blogs, leave comments… You never know what will happen! If anything, I will personally visit each entry - and leave a comment. :-)
5) See who wins and congratulate away!
How and what do you win?
Okay, on to the next part. Well… the prize/s will depend on how many folks participate. Since we’re using $25 as our theme, I’ll stick with that number. Sort of.
Well, basically, there’s a $25 prize up for grabs, for every 25 contest participants. How does that that work? Well, if we end up with 25 people or less participating, there will be 1 winner ($25 prize). Between 26 - 50 entries, 2 winners will be chosen ($25 each). Between 51 - 75, 3 winners ($25 each). And, if we have 76 - 100 participants, there will be 4 winners ($25 each).
So yeah, this group writing contest is definitely following the old adage, “the more, the merrier.” Heh.
Winners will be chosen randomly via Random.org.
The money prize will be sent via Paypal only (or can be paid via Paypal - for example, you might opt for a Flickr Pro account gift subscription instead), just for ease of processing. So, unfortunately, if you do not have a Paypal account, I’m afraid that you might have to pass for now. Hopefully, I’ll be able to do more contests with other forms of payment someday.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.
Deadline for the contest: 10 December 2008 (timezone followed is +9.5 UTC/GMT). Winners will be announced on or before the 15th December.
So, get writing - and sharing! Tell us what you’d do with $25.

This is exciting! I’m def. going to work up a post for this contest soon.
And about contest posts… I’ve heard their good for traffic, but do most people really see an influx that’s worth the contest, or is this something that should be left to the “bigger bloggers”?

Sounds interesting! Lets see if I can pull out something that matches my niche and still makes me eligible for the Contest.

Well, if I had $25, I would donate it all to an orphanage. Why you say? First, it will bring smiles to so many of these less fortunate children - priceless! Second, it will help the orphanage in a small way and if these children have the means to survive - they will be able to contribute to the country and economy later! Finally, it pays to pay it forward - one of these kids may become the next Bill Gates and then you will be the one who helped him or her (of course this should not be why you donate the $25 but what I call a possible positive spillover effect)!

No freaking way. I’m absolutely disagreeing. Next time when you post something think about reaction of readers.
