PubMatic: Optimizing Your Ads

by Shai Coggins on February 15th, 2008

PubmaticIf you’re a member of several ad networks (or you want to be), you know that it can be difficult to manage, streamline, and maximise the use of all these ads. That’s why if you haven’t heard of PubMatic (still in beta) yet, then you might be pleased to know that there is a service that attempts this particular challenge for online publishers and entrepreneurs.

What is PubMatic and what does it do? Here’s some info from their press release a couple of weeks ago -

PubMatic’s vision is to seamlessly connect publishers with ad networks in ways that benefit publishers, ad networks, advertisers and web site visitors alike. PubMatic automates and optimizes ad inventory decision-making for publishers by identifying and recommending the ad network and layout that will generate the most revenue in real time. The result is that publishers enjoy increased revenue while at the same time freeing themselves to focus on generating innovative content and reaching new readers.

Basically, if you’re a member of AdSense, AdBrite, Yahoo Publisher Network, etc. Then, you can sign-up and optimise your ad inventory by using PubMatic’s service.

If you wish to see this in action, a few b5media blogs are running ads optimised by PubMatic’s service. Yes, including this blog, Just Make Money Online.

For more information, check out PubMatic’s FAQ section.

If you’re using (or have used) PubMatic in your blogs/websites, I’d love to hear about what you think of the service.

Sounds similar to the Rubicon Project? http://rubiconproject.com

I started using it a couple months ago and my click-through rates have more than doubled. I’m amazed that Google hasn’t caught on to this and implemented the necessary optimization changes!

Hi, Douglas. I’m not too familiar with it, so I’m not quite sure. In any case, it’s good to know that it’s working for you. Will go have a look. Thanks!
