Open Mic Monday: Do You Have a Tip Jar?

by Shai Coggins on February 25th, 2008

Open Mic Mondays at JMMO

Tip jars are something I’ve never really experimented with, when it comes to making money online. Sure, I’ve suggested it before because I know some folks have used this avenue to raise funds. However, I’ve always been hesitant to use it myself.

But, ever since I’ve heard about ScratchBack/Topspots, I thought I’d give it a go.

Well, after a few months of thinking about it, I’ve finally signed up for an account and installed the widget over at ShaiCoggins.com. I haven’t asked my readers from my personal blog to check it out yet. So, I’m not sure what the reaction will be like. Once I announce it, I’ll let you know.

What about you? Have you ever used a donation button or tip jar? Why or why not? And, how’s it working for you? What about Scratchback/Topspots? Have you tried it - and what do you think of it?

I had a ScratchBack widget on my site for awhile, but it showed no activity. I took it down and left my PayPerPost hire me widget up. I still don’t have any activity with that either.

I have never used them because I dont want to be seen asking for money. If people want to advertise then they can email me, but Im not going to beg.

At the encouragement of my community I installed a Scratchback widget and a tip jar. I get a few donations a month which enables me to pay the wonderful woman I have helping me search for job leads.
