TipIt Tipping Service
Are you planning to use the PayPal Donate button? How about the Buy Me a Beer WordPress plugin? These are blog add-ons that allow blog visitors to tip the blogger. This is another popular way of earning some extra bucks from blogging. If you’ve tried these tools before in monetizing your blog and would now like to check out another option, you might like TipIt.
So how does TipIt differ from other tipping service plug-ins?
As Yuga had mentioned, Unlike the PayPal Donate button or the Buy Me a Beer plugin, which also uses PayPal, if you receive really small amount of money, say, just a few cents, you don’t have to worry that the money will just go to PayPal fees.
However, what bothers me is this statement on TipIt’s about page.
To make tipping easier, Tipit.to enables users to tip amounts as low as a couple of cents. These tip intentions are not transferred immediately. Once the total amount of money tipped reaches a threshold, a user will be prompted to make good on their intentions.
Does this mean that tippers can still back out if they change their mind when they tip you? I hope someone can clarify this.
How do you install TipIt? You will only have to sign up and then get the code of the TipIt button. This button is linked to the TipIt site.
So how does TipIt earn from you? TipIt will charge you upon withdrawal of all your tips. According to Yuga, the current withdrawal rate charge is at 6.44%.

Yes, tippers can still back out but they can also pay the tip immediately even if the tip haven’t reached the threshold of $3. The remaining amount will go to the tippers wallet.

@ Missy
TipIt, TipJoy, Tip us all - getting tipsy from all of those tip services. Haha..
I think this will work for those who don’t have ads on their sites. What do you think?
@ Joseph Martin
I’m guessing that many bloggers who already have big following can benefit from these types of monetization.
@ Maruel
Thanks for the clarification.

Tip intentions are only made real when somebody pays the money they promised. So if somebody has paid up their tips to you, you get the money. Tip intentions however can indeed be cancelled. But if somebody cancels their intention, they were probably not going to tip you anyway (but at least they considered it).
Tipit.to is a free service. The amount charged is exactly that which is necessary to break even on transaction costs. We earn money from your tips.
@Joseph, depending on your site and how you manage to motivate your visitors to donate to you, it does work. And yes some sites are already receiving significant amounts through Tipit.to.
