Open Mic Monday: On Birthdays and Making Money Online
Since I just celebrated my birthday yesterday, I thought I’d lead this week’s Open Mic on to the subject of birthdays and making money online. The main question: Can you think of different ways to make money online using the theme of birthdays?
When I started a blogging network 3 years ago, one of the first blogs that I launched was The Birthday Blog. It’s no longer online, but I can say that it was an interesting topic to cover. And, it actually did well in advertising and some affiliate sales.
Other than that, other ways people make money online with the birthday theme may include:
- Selling ecard club memberships.
- Selling birthday-related items on eBay, etc.
- Letter, greeting card, or poetry writing services.
- Selling personalised items and ecards as birthday gifts.
- Birthday party organising services.
- Selling pre-packed birthday themes.
Any other ideas?

I’ve been looking for a WP plugin that would capture reader birthdays. Then i could either send them a freebie or some other “gift”. Or just to send them a Happy Birthday wish.
I’ve not found such wp plugin, so might have to look into having one developed.
