Open Mic Monday: Ideas for Battling Slump

by Shai Coggins on July 14th, 2008

Open Mic Monday - at Just Make Money Online

The months of late-June to August tend to be known as the “Slump Months” in the online world. Most businesses on the Internet find that things get slower during these months. Sales are lower… Not a lot of blog readers and commenters… Freelance work slows down.

So, what do online workers need to do to keep productive during these months?

Some ideas might include:

  • Researching upcoming trends for Spring/Christmas, etc.
  • Doing inventory
  • Fixing site problems
  • SEO Optimization
  • Creating better content
  • Brainstorming new ideas

Anything else you might want to add to this list of ideas?

    1. Prepare & submit tax returns.
    2. Write newsletter/article suumarising last 12 months.
These would be the best two things to. A summary of the previous year might invoke new ideas for future articles of interest!

my blog has really taken off this last month, mainly because I have continued to stay active in my niche with a lot of blog and forum commenting.

Interesting post. As this is my first year blogging, I was not aware of the typical “slump” in the online world. I will work even harder to produce more, quality content during this period!

    Thanks for the excellent article.
