Here’s my #1 tip: DO NOT, under any circumstances, cut back on investing in your business. Get out there and advertise, market, and spread the word until your jaw is sore!

In the words of super rich, investment and business guru Warren Buffet: “Be fearful when others are greedy and to be greedy only when others are fearful.”

I am just getting my wine blog up and running so I haven’t quit my day job (in finance) at this point. I am however, watching my cash flow since it’s all outgoing at this point and mostly in start-up mode. Do I absolutely need this software right now? That’s a typical question I ask myself.

Something might make my blog look cooler but at this point, I do believe what will get people back to my blog the most is content. So, I will spend more focus and money in that arena. I may not pay for advertising just yet. It doesn’t make sense to if there isn’t enough content to hook people. But I won’t ignore marketing either. I talk to people about my blog and have had biz cards made up. I am getting the word out in different ways.

The hardest part is finding the time to write at this point and market. I am also working a 2nd job and taking a wine class. I do my best and just keep reminding myself this is for the long-term and it will take time. What I am struggling with right now is the question whether it would make sense to hire someone to help me out with content (not full-time, but on a per-piece basis). Suggestions?
