This is probably one of the longest-running polls in JMMO history. Usually, I post 1 new poll a month. But, this one was up since the end of October 2008. Unfortunately, moving servers/hosts and many other events that followed stopped me from updating our polls of the month. So, here I am, trying to catch up again.
Anyway, for our last poll, the question was: Are you preparing your online business for the recession?
And, majority of JMMO readers and visitors said that they don’t have an online business yet (47%). Well, the good news there is that at least majority of you won’t need to worry about the economic downturn hitting online businesses.
On the other hand, I do wonder what stops people from trying something – anything – to make money online. The great thing about online businesses, you see, is that it takes very little capital to get started. And, while it may seem scary to start a business during tough economic times, sometimes, it’s a good move as it can help especially for people finding it difficult to look for jobs.
OK, now that I’ve gotten that out of the way…
The next group is actually JMMO readers and visitors who say that they’re definitely preparing their online businesses for the recession (25%). And, I say – GREAT! Good on you for being proactive about it. If you can share the different ways you’re preparing for the downturn, I’d love to hear about them.
Another group says that they’re preparing a little (12%). And, interestingly enough, there’s an equal number of voters who say that they don’t think their online business will be affected by the recession (8%) and that they don’t believe that the recession is real (8%). Hmmm… I wonder why?
The total number of voters for this poll is 146.
In any case, thanks for your patience with me as I catch up with polls here at JMMO. And thank you to all of you who respond to our polls! Your votes really help us find a few interesting things about the world of online business.
So, there you go. I’ll be posting a new poll shortly!
