Yesterday, I found out that Google is ending their video ad units programme by the end of April. I found it a real shame because I was getting some good returns on one video ad unit that I was running on one of my sites.
During its run on my site, I thought it was great because I found a way to share videos from YouTube that were relevant to my site. And, I found a way to monetise those videos at the same time.
But, it looks like it hasn’t been working too well for Google and its video advertisers. I guess that will always be the challenge of online video ads. In any case, even though they are ending the video ad units programme, they will still continue to foster relationships with some eligible YouTubers who can run ads on their blogs, courtesy of Google.
