When I got my first job, the first thought that came to my mind was to buy all the things that I have always wanted to buy before, when I don't have any money yet. But after some time, I managed to control myself and look forward to the future. I learned to save money and to set a specific budget for necessities. I think I'm pass the obsession now. Obsession with money naturally comes with your first job I guess. But it will wear off after a while.

Your being uncomfortable with money depends on how you view it. If you think money is evil, then it is likely that you tend to disdain the idea of talking about it and much more acquiring it. If you consider that it is just a tool so you can buy your everyday needs, then there should be no problem dealing with it.

I understand what you mean. While I know money is a necessary evil, I hate to see it go to peoples' heads thinking it defines them as a person. I like nice things just as much as the next person, but typically if my bills are paid and I can afford a nice dinner now and then I'm content.
