Like Mayre, I’m a writer and Site Editor for LovetoKnow. I have been writing for them since April 2008. I love working with them. The first few months of pulling off 20 articles a month by the deadline were tough but once you get the hang of the required style and find good research resources in your usual assigned niches, it goes well. They pay promptly, provide training and I have networked with other good writers and editors, which led to some contacts and information that led me to publish in other places. I recommend them to writers with enthusiasm. You can read my contributions on the channels I edit – Vitamins, Business and Vegetarian – or on Herbs, Gourmet and French, my usual topics (although I think I’ve written for over a dozen of their sections!).

It varies. The got back to me in 3 weeks. I think, like any large company, it depends on whether they are actively searching, what they are looking for, etc.

Hi Shai. I have been writing for LTK for about 1 1/2 years. There are positive things and negative things about it, lik e anything else. Sometimes, it can be daunting looking at a list of 20 article titles. Depending on whether you are writing in your own niche or not it can mean a lot of research. I would say, that when I write in areas that I am proficient in an article will take me about 45-60 minutes. And if it is something I am not interested in it can be…D.R.Y. BUT they pay on time, every month, there is a lot of support from those higher up and it is consistent. I am also a site editor for 2 of the channels, antiques and organics (where I am proficient) and editing takes about 10 hours a month for each channel, if that. Site editors are responsible for editing writer’s work for grammar, coding, and facts, as well as changing up the landing pages, and handling comments. Pay is on a per item basis. A writer can expect to make about 400-450 a month and a writer/editor can expect about 550-850 or more, depending on the variations in the channel they are editing.
It is a great place to hone editing and seo skills, as well as gain experience. It was my second writing gig after I went on with b5. Hope this helps…and if anyone has questions I can answer I would be glad to.
